Bulk multi-energy grids and smart distribution automation
SCCER-FURIES PHASE II
Description
Within the second phase, SCCER-FURIES aims to address the research questions resulting from the first phase and provide distribution system operators with planning and operation tools to integrate 4.4. TWh of non-dispatchable energy resources into their grid, and at the same time to provide the transmission system operator with tools for better integrated control of the two grid layers, which is aligned to the “Energy Strategy 2050” goals. This project, on which the IEFE team from ZHAW is part of it, is lead by the distributed electrical systems laboratory of EPFL and involves the collaboration of different partners from the ETHZ domain, cantonal universities and other universities of applied science in Switzerland as well as industrial partners such as: Swissgrid, Axpo, BKB, NEPLAN, ABB, Alpiq and SwissGas.
