The School of Architecture, Design and Civil Engineering is not only rich in tradition, but is also one of the largest and most innovative educational institutions of its kind at a Swiss University of Applied Sciences.
The School encompasses the following degree programmes:

- BSc in Civil Engineering
- MSc in Civil Engineering
The degree programmes offer aspiring young professionals outstanding educational opportunities to prepare them for their future careers. The programmes have close connections with application-oriented research and development and graduate level education, thus helping to create synergies between the two distinct professions of the architect and the civil engineer, and promoting cooperation and mutual understanding between them. In the field of architecture and civil engineering, the ZHAW is recognised as a compact University of Applied Sciences with valuable links to important universities at home and abroad.
In the both Institutes of Urban Landscape and Constructive Design together with a continuing education platform and services is the nub of all the research, continuing education and service activities from the department of architecture, design and civil engineering.
The influence of the School, the degree programmes, and the Institutes of Urban Landscape and Constructive Design extends far beyond the area of Zurich. The language of the studies is German.
