PAEON

Model-Driven Computation of Treatments for Infertility Related Endocrinological Diseases

The international consortium PAEON has the common goal to provide quantitative model-based computation of treatment strategies for infertility-related endocrinological diseases. In a neuropsychological subproject under the project leadership of Prof. Brigitte Leeners, MD, at University Hospital Zurich, specific neuropsychological processes associated with the menstrual cycle will be modelled. One of the research questions is the extent to which hormones affect cognitive processes such as perception, attention, and regulation of emotion. This area is fundamental for a better understanding of cycle-determined hormonal effects on the emotional well-being and functioning level of women of childbearing age.
