Our organisational form Holacracy
Highly committed and skilled employees who take responsibility for what they do work at the Institute of Physiotherapy. Since spring 2022, we have also reflected this in our organizational structure and work in a self-organized, agile organizational form, based on holocracy.
The word holocracy is derived from the ancient Greek "holon" and means "to be part of a whole". The American entrepreneur, Brian Robertson, is considered to be the pioneer of this form of organization, which is characterized by flat hierarchies.
This form of organization is based on roles that have a clearly defined purpose, and transparent responsibilities. Employees act independently within their roles and can organize and carry out independently all the work that is useful for the realization of the purpose of the role. Roles are grouped together in subject areas.
Why do we work in a self-organized way?
- We see ourselves as a modern, self-organized and agile organization.
- Independent responsible action corresponds to our image of humanity.
- Subject-led networking within our institute is important to us.
- We have transparent structures and processes, enabling clear decision-making paths, contact persons and knowledge management.
- We make use of the expertise of all employees.
- We are a learning organization and offer our employees development opportunities.
