Biotechnology goes paperless

After the successful completion of a pilot project last year, the Bachelor’s degree programme in Biotechnology will be paperless from the autumn semester 2014.

About 1700 A4 pages were previously distributed to each individual student per semester (ZHAW’s estimate). This means that the Biotechnology study programme will be more sustainable and environmentally friendly, as paper scripts will no longer be used for the most part. In addition, the programme will be coming into line with the “digital native” generation. All Bachelor’s students in this study programme will receive a tablet for the duration of their studies.Students will not incur any additional costs, as their regular tablet???/script fee will contribute to purchasing the equipment. Scripts and presentations will no longer be printed for lessons but made available in digital format on the e-learning platform "Moodle". Curious?
