Studying and compulsory service
Will you have to complete military service, civil defence or civil service during your degree programme? We will help you to optimally coordinate your studies and compulsory service. We recommend that students who have to complete a military refresher course during teaching time should organise to be assigned to another unit for a guest refresher course at their district command (during non-teaching time). All requests for the postponement of a period of service must be submitted at least 14 weeks before the service is scheduled to begin.

Counselling for LGBITQ+ individuals
What does it mean to study at the ZHAW as a queer, trans, non-binary or intersex individual? How can I go about coming out? How do I get my gender entry and my first names changed by the Student Administration Office?
The Diversity Unit would be happy to provide you with information and advise you on these and other issues on a confidential basis. Depending on the topic, it can put you in touch with experts from the LGBTIQ+ peer-to-peer group or specialist external bodies.
