COST Action – a network to establish sustainable food packaging solutions
Switzerland is now officially participating in the COST Action #CA19124 “CIRCUL-A-BILITY”. The objective of COST Action is to master the key technical and non-technical challenges to establish sustainable food packaging solutions within future food supply chain cycles.
The COST Action network will allow for collaboration between universities, research institutes and industry in order to secure the packaging cycle, reduce food waste and improve the sustainability of packaging.
Professor Selcuk Yildirim, Head of the Food Packaging Research Group at the Institute of Food and Beverage Innovation, was nominated as a member of the Management Committee and will represent Switzerland in the COST Action. Professor Yildirim’s research group is working on the development of innovative and sustainable packaging materials and processes to ensure the provision of high-quality and safe food.
