Dean of the ZHAW School of Engineering elected a member of the SATW

Dirk Wilhelm, Dean of the ZHAW School of Engineering, has been appointed a member of the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences (SATW) in recognition of his scientific achievements and his exemplary commitment to the systematic promotion of young talent in the engineering sciences at Swiss universities of applied sciences.

The SATW has accepted 19 individual members into its network for the current year. These individuals have a considerable track record in technical sciences. SATW now has a total of 382 individual members and 8 honorary members. The admission of the new members will be celebrated at the annual congress on 27 May with the presentation of certificates.

Dirk Wilhelm has been Dean of the ZHAW School of Engineering since 2019 and member of the University Board. He has more than ten years of industry experience and more than 20 years of academic experience in a variety of operational, managerial and academic positions. His research interest is in biomedical analysis methods, especially in nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. He is a member of the MINT commission of the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences and, as President of FTAL (Fachkonferenz Technik, Architektur, Life Sciences), is committed to education and research in engineering and life sciences in Switzerland.

The SATW is a network of important personalities from science and industry. Individuals who are particularly committed to the aims of the SATW and/or the technical sciences can be elected as ordinary individual members.
