Dominique Ursprung New Managing Director of the Swiss-Japanese Chamber of Commerce
SML faculty member Dominique Ursprung was appointed as the new managing director of the Swiss-Japanese Chamber of Commerce (SJCC) in December 2015. Ursprung has been a member of SJCC since 2007 and, most recently, headed the alumni association for graduates of the SJCC young professional exchange program.
As the only chamber of commerce in Switzerland, the SJCC enables young university graduates to visit Japan to gain practical experience as interns. This scholarship fund recently allowed SML graduate Sarah Ehrensperger to benefit from this opportunity and from the strong network of the chamber of commerce.
As well as becoming home to the SJCC, the International Management Institute now also serves as the office of the Parliamentary Group Japan-Switzerland; this body is jointly chaired by National Councillor Elisabeth Schneider-Schneiter.
As the first event of the coming year, the SJCC is hosting a Japanese New Year reception, a ‘shinnenkai’, at Zunfthaus Meisen in Zurich. The key note speaker will be Sam Perry of Pictet Asset Management, London, who will present an economic outlook for 2016.
