SNSF-Sinergia project on antiviral drug discovery at the ICBT

The Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) has granted a Sinergia project entitled "Morbillivirus cell entry machinery: mechanisms, structures and drug discovery".

Rainer Riedl (ZHAW, Institute for Chemistry and Biotechnology), Dimitrios Fotiadis (University of Bern, Medical Faculty) and Philippe Plattet (University of Bern, Vetisuisse faculty), within their cooperation over the next four years, are seeking to deliver pioneering results in the field of antiviral drug discovery with multiple implications to the health sector.

The SNSF supports Sinergia projects with interdisciplinary research and the prospect of groundbreaking results. Between 2017 and 2020, funding worth 250 million francs gets provided.
