ZHAW joins the research efforts for the national food survey

The national food survey “menuCH“ is the first to provide representative data on food consumption and dietary behaviour in Switzerland.

The ZHAW Centre for Nutrition at the Institute of Food and Beverage Innovation in Wädenswil has received research funding from the Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office (BLV) to analyse the data. The goal is to define Swiss food and beverage consumption by focussing on three nutritionally important food groups: meat and fish, dairy products and beverages. The project will run until the end of April 2020.

The research team comprises Janice Sych from the ZHAW, project leader Sabine Rohrmann and David Fäh from the University of Zurich, and Martin Wilks from the University of Basel. Ivo Kälin, from the ZHAW Institute of Applied Simulation, will contribute his expertise to the statistics part of the project.
