Simulation as planning, configuration and optimiziation tool for automating production processes.
Process planning, automation and optimization with logistics and process simulation
Description
For a plant engineering and construction company a simulation tool for the planning and configuration of a partially automated production process is created. The goal is to fully automate the semi-automated process. Using simulation, bottlenecks can be detected, visualized and eliminated by experimenting with various system configurations and control strategies. The focus of the simulation study is the development of a tool for determining the optimal plant configuration and control for different customer segments. The project formed the basis for the development of various simulation kits for the fully automatic configuration and optimization of systems in the simulator.
