Smart Mobility Experience
Exploring Sustainable Mobility Concepts through Virtual Reality
Description
In this project, a virtual reality environment will be created to bring concepts around smart mobility closer to a broad audience. These concepts include smart sharing offers (and thus a change of mentality from owning to using), automated driving (which could reduce the number of vehicles in cities to one tenth within the framework of a shared fleet), electrification using renewable electricity (which can significantly reduce CO2 emissions from mobility), and the efficient integration of different transport modes in a Mobility as a Service (MaaS) concept. At the core of the game lies the immersive storytelling, which makes new mobility concepts accessible and comprehensible. The aim of this research project is to find out which elements of VR storytelling offer the greatest potential to enable citizens to participate in decisions in the field of urban development and mobility and to take action themselves.
