Iron therapy for iron deficiency without anaemia: Cost‐comparison and budget impact analysis
Description
Our role in this project was to perform a health economic evaluation of parenteral versus oral iron therapy in populations identified with iron deficiency non anaemia (IDNA) in the Swiss population. The economic evaluation was restricted to a cost-comparison analysis and a budget impact analysis from a health care payer perspective. The medical costs of all health care services of the different routes of iron administration were modelled with a decision tree over a time horizon of one year reflecting the current clinical practice in Switzerland.
