How well do you control your biosignals? (MuscleJump)
Description
This demo project relates to the current application of EMG sensors (electromyography). Nowadays, EMG sensors can be used to control modern arm or leg prostheses, giving patients more freedom. However, controlling such prostheses is a challenge and requires lengthy training. Especially at the beginning, it is unfamiliar and disconcerting for patients to tense a muscle in a targeted manner. With this systems engineering and biomechanical project, we are trying to make this complex topic understandable and tangible. Our project idea, which involves the use of EMG sensors to control a jump-and-run game, is not only intended to demonstrate the technological advances in prosthesis control
but also to illustrate the difficulties faced by prosthesis users.
