Redefining Cross-Cultural Leadership
Description
The digital transformation of business globally, accelerated by the Covid-19 pandemic, has disrupted traditional organisational processes. At the same time, the advent of new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and natural language processing have the potential to revolutionise the workplace and education. However, their use is still in its early stages and there exists a significant need for universities to harness their potential. In such a context, it becomes key for business schools to teach the leaders of tomorrow how to anticipate, adjust, and continuously transform in response to new technologies, and consider ethical and cultural aspects in their use. Hereby, learning orientation and critical thinking are key skills necessary for the digital age. Given this state of affairs, the overarching goal of this project is to develop a joint module named “Leadership for a digital age" that aims to redefine cross-cultural leadership skills for the use of new technologies in the workplace. It will be executed together with our partners LUMSA (Italy), Kyiv School of Economics (Ukraine), and Grenoble Ecole de Management (France). To reach this goal, we will develop a new competence framework and teaching content targeting students who will collaborate in multicultural virtual teams with their peers. It will be delivered simultaneously by all participating universities with a planned launch in the fall semester of 2025. The target group are undergraduate and postgraduate students majoring in management or economics. In the future, we will extend the scope to additional partner universities, continuing education-level courses, and cross-cultural investigations of the impact of AI in education.
