Comparison of Sampling Strategies for Dynamically Introduced Substances in Surface Waters (VPDOS)
Effective sampling strategies are crucial for detecting chemical pollution in surface waters. This project highlights how different methods influence trend detection and the evaluation of substance concentrations.
Description
This project examines the effectiveness of different sampling strategies for substances dynamically introduced into surface waters.
The aim is to analyze the impact of sampling methods – monthly grab samples versus biweekly composite samples – on the assessment of chemical pollution in water bodies. Differences in the number of detected substances, biweekly average concentrations, annual mean concentrations, and risk quotients are evaluated. Our work package focuses on the impact of sampling strategies on trend detection.
