Means of proof for distracting secondary activities of motor vehicle drivers
Description
In ASTRA's accident statistics for 2022, the main cause of 16.4% of registered accidents resulting in personal injury was noted as "inattention and distraction". International studies suggest that this proportion is even higher. Regardless of the exact percentage, it is clear that the influence of inattention and distraction on accidents is significant.
This project is investigating the different ways of detecting inattention and distraction at the wheel. To this end, existing findings from research will be evaluated, discussions with experts in the field will be held and our own analyses of the research team will be carried out. The various detection methods are analysed for their suitability in practice on the basis of objective criteria. Finally, a concept of a pilot test with a suitable means of detection will be described.
