Local Colours – Industrial Natural Dyeing based on plant dyes from waste
Description
The Local Colours project aims to sustainably dye local textiles with natural dyes from local plant waste or plants. The sustainable dyeing of textiles on an industrial scale is the core of the project, which uses the advances in chemistry without depleting fossil resources. The aim is a circular economic approach, which extends existing circles with added value through the use of waste streams (here: dyes and mordants). As the title suggests, Industrial Natural Dyeing project will carry out natural dyeing on an industrial scale. This will be done in cooperation with a yarn producer, a dyer and a knitter.
