Cleaning in Place for continuous reactors
Description
In this project, a Cleaning in Place (CIP) procedure for continuous flow reactors with static mixers was developed. The detection and quantification of contaminants were achieved using a riboflavin test, which first had to be adapted for continuous systems.
The Fluitec Contiplant LAB half-shell reactor allowed the opening of the reactor channel and thus the spatial representation of possible fouling zones. The procedure can also be used for reactors that cannot be opened for cleaning.
