Description
Abnormal processing of amyloid precursor protein (APP) and accumulation of amyloid beta peptides is a hallmark of Alzheimer's dementia. The protease ADAM10 cleaves APP in a neuroprotective manner and thus prevents the accumulation of amyloid beta peptides. Our goal is to develop molecules that increase ADAM10 activity for the treatment of Alzheimer's dementia.
