Virtual Reality Biofeedback – A Longitudinal Investigation of a Technology-Based Stress Management Training for Teachers
The project is developing and testing an innovative VR-based stress management training program for teachers that uses biofeedback exercises to strengthen stress resilience and improve mental health.
Description
The project aims to develop an innovative, VR-based stress management training for teachers and to evaluate its effectiveness in a randomized controlled trial (RCT).
Based on biofeedback exercises for heart rate variability, a multi-part training program is being designed that strengthens stress resilience and promotes mental health. Development will be iterative with user feedback, and the effectiveness will be tested on 150 trainee teachers at three Swiss universities. In addition to physiological stress markers, established questionnaires on stress, well-being and mental health will be used.
The project aims to provide evidence-based findings on the long-term effectiveness of VR biofeedback and provide a scalable, practical intervention for stress management.
