National Teaching and Learning Platform for Ecological Sustainability in Architecture (NAT)
In cooperation with nine architecture schools, SIA and other partners, the project introduces a national, cross-school teaching and learning platform to promote an integral design approach for ecologically sustainable buildings for architecture practitioners.
Description
This project will enable the national roll-out of a national, cross-school teaching and learning platform to promote an integrated design approach for ecologically sustainable buildings and ensure the long-term maintenance of the platform. Within 2-3 years, the platform aims to become a national reference in ecologically sustainable building and strengthen the teaching of architecture at Swiss architecture schools and beyond. Nine architecture schools from all three language regions are participating in the project. They play a key role by actively integrating the platform into their curricula and providing direct feedback for its continuous improvement. The SIA (Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects) participates in the advisory board, contributes expertise and network support from the field and offers itself as a cross-curricular and school-independent (neutral) body for evaluation, statistics and feedback. The collaboration of these stakeholders ensures a broad perspective, specialist knowledge and effective implementation of the platform in the education sector and in architectural practice.
