Empirical Analysis of Board Diversity
Description
The project examines diversity in Swiss corporate boards and executive teams using empirical methods. The study analyzes three main aspects: the development of diversity in boards of directors and executive management, the factors that influence this diversity, and the effects on key corporate performance indicators. By utilizing a comprehensive database from the schillingreport, detailed characteristics of executives over a 20-year period are linked with financial metrics for the first time. The results provide valuable insights for various stakeholders - from companies and investors to policy makers - and create an empirical foundation for evaluating existing regulations and improving governance practices in Switzerland.
