Improving Circular Economy Practices and Food Security in the Agriculture Sector by Valorizing Organic Residues Using Thermo-Chemical Processes (WASTE4CHAR)

Description

The project aims to improve the circular economy practices and enhance food security within the agricultural areas in Southeast Asian countries, which are mostly agro-based economies, by employing innovative management and techniques for upgrading organic residues.

Due to the significant environmental and socio-economic challenges from agricultural sectors, including deforestation, greenhouse gas emissions, and loss of nutrient sources, there is an urgent need for innovative solutions.

Therefore, this project goal matches the Call objective: minimising waste, increasing resource efficiency, and more efficient use of by-products along the value chain of the agri-food sector.
