With the Conferment of Decorations on Foreign Nationals in spring 2024, the Emperor of Japan decided to award to Mr. Martin Herb, President of the Swiss-Japanese Chamber of Commerce (SJCC), the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon. The International Management Institute, that hosted the office of the SJCC for six years (2016-2021), congratulates Mr. Herb on this extraordinary recognition.

ZHAW Senior lecturer Dominique Ursprung was invited to join the order conferment ceremony that took place at the residence of the Japanese ambassador in Bern on Friday, 27 September 2024. The Ambassador of Japan, H.E. Fujiyama Yoshinori, used the occasion to also highlight the importance of the secretariat of the Parliamentary Friendship Group Switzerland-Japan which is run by ZHAW since 2014 via Mr Ursprung in his function as board member of the SJCC.
