Wealth Management in Switzerland 2024
The new "Swiss Wealth Management Study 2024" by Dr. Christoph Künzle, CFA, and Jonas Hefti from the ZHAW School of Management and Law offers a data-rich perspective on Switzerland’s wealth management industry during a transformative year.
In 2024, following its acquisition of Credit Suisse, UBS emerged as the dominant sector leader, holding 67 percent of the global CHF 7.8 trillion in AUM managed by Swiss wealth management banks. The sector attracted CHF 137 billion in net new money (NNM). This growth follows 2023’s outflows, indicating renewed client confidence.
The ZHAW Wealth Management Performance Score identifies the top-performing banks across five categories, which are awarded jointly with finews:
Global FTE employed by Swiss wealth management banks grew by approximately 1 percent to an impressive 177'082, significantly dominated by UBS (78 percent of total FTE). The median FTE per banks is considerably lower with only 132 FTE.
