Digitale Transformation des Staates – Wo stehen Deutschland und die Schweiz? Wo geht die Reise hin?
Digital transformation is one of the crucial innovations in European public administrations and is reshaping government service delivery, public administration, and governance in Europe. Most recently, the COVID-19 pandemic has shown the importance of a well-prepared digital administration to replace analog processes. In doing so, it is essential to ensure proximity to citizens and consider aspects such as data protection, equal treatment, and legal certainty.
During this event, professors from the ZHAW School of Management and Law (Switzerland), the University of Potsdam (Germany), the University of Zurich (Switzerland), and high-level government and parliament members from Switzerland and Germany outline and discuss where the benefits and potential risks of public sector digitization lie, how far it has progressed, and what challenges ought to be overcome.
This event originated from the research project "Digital Transformation at the Local Tier of Government in Europe: Dynamics and Effects from a Cross-Countries and Over-Time Comparative Perspective (DIGILOG)," which is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF) and the German Research Foundation (DFG) and led by speakers Prof. Dr. Sabine Kuhlmann, Prof. Dr. Isabella Proeller and Prof. Dr. Reto Steiner.
