Content

Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) are a new type of blockchain-based organizational form that enables processes to be set up in a decentralized and automated manner. In particular, the decision-making processes in DAOs are (theoretically) more inclusive and democratic than in traditional companies. In the blockchain sector, DAOs are already widely used as a form of organization to coordinate projects in the areas of decentralized finance, community building and investments. These DAOs have developed decision-making mechanisms, organizational forms and incentive systems that can also have implications for traditional organizations and even democratic processes.

This continuing education course examines these developments and explores the new possibilities of DAOs. The focus is on practical applications. You will learn how to interact with DAOs and how you can vote in them. After the course, you will understand how DAOs work and what opportunities and risks they have.
