When does the continuous program start and what application deadlines do I need to be aware of?
The CAS Corporate Responsibility starts on 23.02.2024. You can apply until 26.01.2024. Please also note our reduced seminar fee for early registration four months before the course starts until the end of October.
Which days do the courses take place?
The course consists of seven intensive seminars with a total of 14 attendance days, which take place every two weeks on Friday and Saturday from 08:45 - 16:45 over a period of four months. Seminars take place in our premises in Winterthur and online. Participants complete the courses with a final thesis, which they present at the graduation ceremony.
Can I be admitted without a university degree?
Yes, provided you have a degree from an educational program at a higher professional school (HF) or a higher professional certificate (federal diploma). In addition to, you need at least five years of professional experience at the time of application, including qualified practical experience of at least three years in a company, public authorities, association, non-governmental or non-profit organization (NPO) or in another organization. The head of the program decides on the final admission.
For whom is the CAS Corporate Responsibility suitable?
The course is suitable for four different groups of people: (1) corporate responsibility and sustainability officers in companies; (2) people in functions such as product development, marketing, communication or procurement who work on sustainability topics; (3) people who manage sustainability projects with companies in public authorities, associations, foundations, non-governmental or non-profit organisations; (4) people who want to enter the professional field of corporate responsibility.
How much time do I have to invest in total for the CAS?
12 ECTS credits (European Credit Transfer System) are awarded for successful completion of the program. A workload of 25 to 30 hours per credit is to be expected. For the entire CAS, this corresponds to approximately 300 hours. From these, the attendance comprises 116 hours. The remaining hours are planned for preparation and follow-up assignments for the courses as well as for the final thesis.
How are the intensive seminars structured?
Each intensive seminar consists of a theoretical and a practical part. After the most important theoretical frameworks and the basic knowledge have been concluded, lecturers from the private sector, NGOs and consulting firms, provide their practical experience. Through the in- person discussions with the experts, participants can deepen their learnings and analyse sustainability topics from a practice-oriented perspective.
What kind of content is covered in the courses?
The courses focus on the strategic alignment of corporate responsibility in companies. Contributions by companies to solving societal challenges not only provide added value for society, but also make sense from a business perspective. The integration of a corporate responsibility approach into the strategy, governance and culture of the company is crucial for this. The CAS deals with the most important challenges for corporate responsibility that companies need to solve within seven intensive seminars.
What are the steps to obtain the certificate?
In addition to compulsory attendance to the intensive seminars, you must complete a final thesis in two parts. Ideally, participants bring the question for the project from their own organisation or professional environment. No exams take place.
