Applied Diplomacy at ZHAW Open Day
During the ZHAW School of Management and Law's Open Day, the ZHAW Centre for Global Competitiveness will be hosting exciting events on the topic of diplomacy. Be part of it!
At the first Open Day of the ZHAW School of Management and Law, there will not only be racing cars to marvel at, but also insights into the equally dynamic arena where diplomacy unfolds. We are looking forward to a events about the world of international relations from a practical perspective - because that is exactly what we mean by Applied Diplomacy at ZHAW.
1:00 – 1:45 p.m., Volkart Building (SW), Room 125:
Workshop: «Das diplomatique Parkett»
How do you formally organize an event so that it also works with international guests and cross-border successes can be celebrated? Which gifts are appropriate and which are not? How is the seating arrangement at the Council of the EU in Brussels organized? We use practical exercises to show how knowledge and creativity are equally important in the diplomatic arena.
- Dominique Ursprung, Senior Lecturer for International Relations

Panel Discussion: Global Tensions and Business: A view from Europe and Asia
The return of geopolitics is also a concern for companies around the world. This panel will discuss these risks with a focus on two regions of the world: Europe, where Russia's war against Ukraine is raging, and Asia, where the rivalry between the US and China continues to intensify. In this session, two leading experts will discuss topics such as economic security and how companies deal with geopolitical tensions.
