SRF News: Dr. Daniela Frau discusses the "Trump Backlash" and its impact on diversity

With Donald Trump's election as U.S. President, the terms diversity, equity, and inclusion have become highly politicized in the United States. This has increased political pressure on companies. In an interview with SRF, Dr. Daniela Frau, Diversity Management Officer at the ZHAW School of Management and Law, shared her insights on the implications for Switzerland.

Major corporations such as Meta, McDonald's, Walmart, Boeing, and Ford are currently scaling back their diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. This appears to be tied to Donald Trump’s return to the White House.

According to U.S. experts, this does not necessarily mean that companies are abandoning these issues altogether. Instead, they seem to be rethinking their DEI strategies to avoid potential challenges. For instance, lawsuits and online campaigns alleging reverse discrimination are on the rise.

This raises the question of how Swiss companies are handling this Trump or Diversity Backlash. Dr. Daniela Frau, Diversity Management Officer at the ZHAW School of Management and Law and part of the ZHAW Center for Corporate Responsibility, addressed the topic in an interview with Swiss Radio SRF.
