Wildlife Management Research Group
ZHAW’s Wildlife Management Research Group (WILMA) operates at the interface between the interests of human users and the needs of wild animals. It analyses both the ecology of wild animals and the resource conflicts that arise, and develops workable solutions to situations involving problematic, protected or game species. WILMA is a reliable partner in the fields of teaching, applied research and service provision projects.
Research interests
- Territorial patterns by native wild ungulates and interactions with human interests
- Endangered species ecology and habitat promotion
- Impact assessments for wildlife sanctuary areas
- New tools for collecting basic biological data about wild animals
- Human-wild animal conflict resolution concepts and methods
