Step	Your task
Bachelor’s degree	You hold a university of applied sciences degree which is relevant to your desired specialisation (Bachelor of Science, final grade of at least 5.0 in the CH grading system) in food technology, biotechnology, chemistry, applied computational life sciences, environment or a related field. The admission of individuals with degrees from other types of higher education institutions, or higher education degrees from non related fields will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis and will be subject to certain conditions. Full-time/part-time	Part-time study models offer a variety of different ways to obtain a degree - all of which can be tailored to your personal needs and circumstances. We recommend working part-time with a maximum workload of 50%. The specifics of how you structure your part-time studies will be discussed before the programme begins when you define your individual study agreement (ISA). You can switch from full-time to part-time studies before the start of any semester.
Specialisation and research unit	You will choose a specialization as well as find a supervisor and a field of research for your Master's thesis before your studies begin. Further information can be found on the website for each specialisation.

Suitability assessement	After you have registered, your documents will be examined and you will be informed about the next steps in the approval process. The following criteria will be considered: Final Bachelor's qualification, Specific professional competences in the field of the chosen specialisation, Workplace experience, Motivation, English language proficiency (reference level C1), Review of scientific working and writing skills, Previous education abroad: Additional equivalency verification and conversion of the final grade to the CH grading system (at least 5.0). Candidates who fulfil most, but not all of the requirements for admission may be conditionally accepted provided that they meet certain requirements or pass an aptitude test (e.g., in the case of prior education outside the subject area and/or an insufficient grade point average in the FH Bachelor's degree programme, prior education abroad, insufficient work experience, etc.). The fee for this test is CHF 200.00. You will be informed about the final decision regarding your admission to the programme shortly after your application has been reviewed.
After admission	After you have been admitted to the study programme, you willdefine your own personal learning objectives with your supervisor, determine the topic of your Master's thesis and design your individual study plan. This will be based on your previous education, your interests, and your individual goals. You will then have time for individual preparation before your studies begin either in the spring (cw 8) or autumn (cw 38) semester

Step	Your Task
Required degree	You hold a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in the field of environmental sciences, food sciences, economics, agricultural sciences, nutritional sciences, biotechnology, hospitality management, facility management. Applicants with a subject-distant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree can be admitted to the study programme through an eligibility evaluation. Study Regulations Appendix to the Study Regulations
Regular study time/part-time	The standard course of study lasts 4 semesters and is part-time; five or more semesters are also possible. You can adjust your workload to your needs. We recommend undertaking paid work for no more than 30 to 60 percent.
Individualisation & Preneurship	You design your studies individually and together with your coach while still retaining a degree of flexibility. Instead of predefined specialisations, you adapt the study content to your skills and competences. With the Agro Food Project, you choose whether you want to move towards being an entrepreneur, an intrapreneur or a commonpreneur.

Admission process: Orientation Interview and Eligibility Evaluation	After registration, your documents will be checked and you will be invited to the orientation interview, which is mandatory for all applicants. The orientation interview is non-selective, but rather supports the applicant to consciously examine the programme. With a subject-related Bachelor’s degree and a final grade of at least 4.75 (Swiss grading system) or a subject-related Master’s degree, you will be admitted directly to the programme after the orientation interview. With a subject-distant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or a subject-related Bachelor’s degree with a final grade below 4.75, you will be invited to an eligibility evaluation after the orientation interview. The eligibility evaluation includes the following elements: Oral examination in the subjects: environment & sustainability, food value creation, business knowledge Case study preparation and presentation The programme director decides on additional admission requirements. The costs for the eligibility evaluation are CHF 600.00.
After the admission	After you have been admitted to the programme, you will have time for individual preparation. The course begins in February in calendar week 8.

Step	Your task
Bachelor’s degree	You preferably have a bachelor's degree in facility management, real estate management, business administration, architecture, engineering and/or hospitality management and/or can show additional proof of achievement. You do not have one of the above-mentioned Bachelor's degrees? No problem, bachelor graduates from other disciplines are also welcome. Study Regulations Appendix to the Study Regulations (PDF)
Part-time	Students pursuing a master’s degree alongside professional employment have the advantage that their part-time studies are continuously enriched by practical experience, and new knowledge from their studies can be immediately transferred to everyday working life (theory-practice transfer). The 4-semester or 6-semester curriculum supports a healthy work-life balance.

Aptitute test	With a Bachelor's degree and a final grade of at least 4.75 (CH grading system), you will be admitted directly to the programme after your dossier has been checked. The cost of checking your dossier is CHF 100. With a Bachelor's degree with a final grade below 4.75, you will be invited to the aptitude test. The costs for the examination of your documents and the aptitude test amount to a flat rate of CHF 700.00. (Valid with the decision of the UAS Council in autumn 2023)
Following admission	After you have been admitted to the course, you will have time for individual preparation. The course begins in September in calendar week 38.

Step	Your task
Bachelor’s degree	You need a Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, a related field or an equivalent degree. The admission of persons with university degrees from areas outside the subject area is possible and examined on a dossier basis and may be subject to conditions. Full-time/part-time	You can study full-time or part-time. The advantage of a dual Master programme is that your part-time studies are continuously enhanced by your own practical experiences, and you can immediately transfer your newly acquired theoretical knowledge into your everyday working life. We recommend a professional activity of a maximum of 60 job percent.
MRU and research unit	You need to decide on one of our three Master Research Units (MRU). Within the MRU you choose a research unit in which you complete your Master's Studio (Project Work 1 and 2 as well as Master's thesis). These decisions change the structure of your studies and must therefore be made at the time of registration. Please refer to your choice (MRU and research groups) in your letter of motivation. Information on the possible subjects and research units can be found on the website of the respective MRU. Please note that the places for students in the research units are limited. It is recommended to register as soon as you have made your decisions.
Master Thesis	You can choose the regular option (30 ECTS) or the extended option (45 ECTS). With the extended option, you can specialize even more in your field of study.

Suitability assessement	After registration, the following points will be checked on the basis of your documents, submitted by you in German or English language: Study ability (PDF, German) (final qualification at Bachelor level) Specific professional competences for individual specialisation Motivation Language competence in English and German (for at least one of the two languages reference level C1, for the second level sufficient knowledge). Admission may be subject to individually agreed conditions. You will be informed about the definite admission to the degree programme promptly after the application and its review.
After the admission	After you have been admitted to the study programme, you work out your individual study plan together with your tutor in the weeks before the start of your studies. In addition to the possible compulsory elective modules, you decide to strengthen your methodological competence by choosing a research profile, either scientific or socio-economic, in order to be able to analyse scientific questions using appropriate methodology. You will then have time for individual preparation. The course begins in September in calendar week 38 and in 2023 also in calendar week 8.
