Centre for Analytical Chemistry
«Many years of experience, our outstanding infrastructure and our passion for analytics stand for quality in teaching and research.»
Prof. Dr. Caspar Demuth, Head of Centre
Lecturer for analytical chemistry and sensor technology, head of Centre for Analytical Chemistry and head of Sensor Technology Group
The Centre for Analytical Chemistry is a leading name in the application and development of analytical technologies and methods – in teaching as well as in research.
In two Bachelor’s degree programmes, our students acquire solid scientific knowledge and future-oriented competencies in analytical and physical chemistry. In this way we contribute to the successful future careers of today’s students and to the innovation strength of the enterprises that employ our graduates.
Research that focuses on practical applications is challenging and diverse. Close, project-based collaboration with our partners from industry and academia enables us to strengthen our competencies and keep our infrastructure up to date.
Sections
Analytical Technologies
The Section for Analytical Technologies is engaged in developing and validating analytical methods with a focus on chromatography, mass spectrometry and time-resolved real-time technologies. Particular emphasis is placed on statistical data analysis and chemometrics. The main applications of analytical technologies are in the fields of natural substance and environmental analysis, and in process control.
