"A close connection with nature and a mindful use of natural resources are fundamental to me. Making our planet livable is the foundation of my work. This is rooted in my childhood on one of the first organic farms.

After completing my apprenticeship as a farmer, I studied agronomy and afterwards dedicated myself to improving the living conditions of disadvantaged people in southern and eastern countries. I often encountered degraded landscapes there, which concerned me, because development is not possible without functioning ecosystems.

Back in Switzerland, as the managing director of Bio Suisse, I recognized the need to go beyond standardized labels to help shape a regenerative, planet-friendly food system from soil to stomach. With this mission and thanks to numerous other pioneers, I founded the association Agricultura Regeneratio.

When I heard about the MSc in Preneurship for Regenerative Food Systems, I was thrilled by the opportunity to introduce students to regenerative systems. I really enjoy teaching the fundamentals of regenerative agriculture during a half-day session.

I experience the PREFS students as committed, interested, and enthusiastic about the potentials that are opening up. Such commitment and enthusiasm are essential because we urgently need changemakers who live regenerative approaches at all levels to shape a liveable future for our grandchildren."
