State-of-art Bootcamps for Fundraising Professionals

The ZHAW School of Management and Law has recently updated its continuing education offer now providing two state-of-the-art courses for fundraising professionals looking to take their skills to the next level.

The continuing education courses at the ZHAW School of Management and Law (SML) offer something for everyone. On the one hand, prospective fundraisers or those with little experience can get to know the industry and learn about the basic tools used on a daily basis. On the other hand, courses catering to experienced fundraisers allow professionals to develop their skills to the next level.

Due to the recent update, the SML now offers two continuing education courses in the form of Fundraising Bootcamps for fundraising professionals. The Fundraising Bootcamp: Strategy Mapping introduces a strategically useful tool for long-term fundraising whilst the Fundraising Bootcamp: Great Fundraising dives into what drives great fundraising.

Fundraising Bootcamp: Strategy Mapping

This one-day course familiarizes fundraisers with the Strategy Map, a popular tool used for successful fundraising. The process of Strategy Mapping efficiently identifies key audiences, key markets and key tactics. It can be used in campaigns, programs, special projects and it works for large and small organizations. The Strategy Map is a framework geared to ensure long-term success on all levels and is considered a must for all fundraisers looking to launch lasting fundraising projects.

  • Lecturers: This interactive course is taught by Thomas Kurmann, Vice President of Resource Development, Oxfam America, and Bernard Ross, Director of =mc consulting.
  • Date: October 21, 2022.
  • Application deadline: October 3, 2022.

“Strategy Mapping is a wonderful tool that not only introduces clarity and overview into the strategic process but also promotes engagement and participation within the team. Thanks to the lecturers’ very clear and practice-oriented teaching, I was able to implement what I had learned immediately in my organization in a very profitable manner. Moreover, the course was a lot of fun. I can recommend it warmly.”

Claudia Lehnherr Mosimann, Fundraising Bootcamp: Strategy Mapping participant and Managing Director UniBE Foundation

Fundraising Bootcamp: Great Fundraising

The goal of this two-day course is to provide fundraisers with most recent industry insights from academic research and professional practice. By discussing these findings with the course lecturer and course participants, fundraising professionals sharpen their reflective capabilities whilst learning about the motivation behind these best practices and the drivers for success in order to double, triple or quadruple fundraising income.

  • Lecturer: This interactive course is taught by Prof. Dr. Adrian Sargeant, formerly the first Hartsook Chair in Fundraising at Indiana University and currently the Director of the Institute for Sustainable Philanthropy.
  • Date: November 11 and 12, 2022.
  • Application deadline: October 11, 2022.
Registrations are considered in the order in which they are received – first come, first serve.
