Detailed Agenda

Opening by ZHAW – The AI Decision Advantage

Business decisions, if rationalized by a homo oeconomicus, aim to maximize a utility function. While manually structured approaches are inherently interpretable, they can suffer from imprecisions. Let us see how an AI-based decision intelligence improves nuance and provides intuition.

Dr. Helmut Sedding, ZHAW

Keynote by KPMG – Introduction to Decision Intelligence

Decision Intelligence brings the methodologies and the tools to unlock tremendous value in an organization. What is required by organizations to fully reap its potential?

Mattia Ferrini, KPMG

The Customer Journey to Decision Intelligence

In this session, we will take a closer look at the customer journey in adopting Decision Intelligence technologies. Ateleris and Gurobi will cover their specific perspective on combining consulting and development expertise with leading technologies.

Simon Felix, Ateleris
Dr. Kostja Siefen, Gurobi Optimization

Swissport – Automating Airport Staff Scheduling

Keeping airplanes in the air takes a full crew on the ground, too. Swissport cut planning time in half, while meeting 95-100% of employee scheduling preferences and saving $1 million per year.

Roman Berner, Swissport

Insights by HP International

HP International leverages machine learning and operation research within its channel inventory management. The need to ensure that products reach the right place at the right time poses rigorous data engineering and governance requirements, while the complexity of HP's Channel and supply chain requires careful integration of decision intelligence solutions both in internal processes and in the ecosystem of partners. This talk provides an overview on all technological and organizational elements that have been part of the development of SARA, the channel inventory management and order management for supplies in EMEA.

Dr. Niccolò Moretti, HP International

Improving Energy Supply through Intelligent Revision Planning with RevOpt Hydro

RevOpt Hydro is a sophisticated web-app that calculates the opportunity costs associated with revision shutdowns of hydro power plants and helps to determine the optimal timing for such revisions. I will illustrate how RevOpt Hydro has transformed our decision-making process, enabling us to schedule revisions that align with market conditions, thereby minimizing production losses, maximizing revenue, and improving energy supply reliability. Attendees will gain insights into the practical application of decision intelligence in the energy sector and the substantial benefits of combining advanced mathematical modeling with industry expertise.

Dr. Nathalie Statzer, Axpo
