The Laboratory of Biocatalysis participates in the new National Centre of Competence in Research “Suchcat”
“Suchcat” led by Prof. Javier Pérez-Ramírez (ETHZ) and Prof. Jérôme Waser (EPFL) tries to find new ways to make chemical production more sustainably. The group of Prof. Rebecca Buller will contribute by developing respective biocatalysts.
The Swiss National Science Foundation announced the creation of six new National Centres of Competence in Research (NCCR) on December 16. “Suchcat - sustainable chemical processes through catalysis” (PDF 305,4 KB)will develop strategies for sustainable, resource-efficient and CO2-neutral chemical processes and production starting from abundant sustainable raw material. The interdisciplinary team of 27 research groups from chemistry, material science, engineering and computational science will apply new digital methods e.g. machine learning and artificial intelligence to develop future catalytic technologies.
